1. Scarlet Pearl, La White, Eden, Carolina Belle, Honey Dew Hale and Summer Pearl are suggested for trial purposes, and growers throughout the entire southern production area may wish to plant a few trees for evaluation.

2. Because of the higher chilling requirement of these varieties, they should be grown only in the upper half of the southern production area.

3. S (small), M (medium), and L (large).

4. Overall hardiness rating (winter bud hardiness) is as follows: P (poor), F (fair), G (good), and E (excellent).

5. Among best in season (for their period of ripening) for commercial use in south Alabama. Don't know how well newer selections will perform yet.

6. Patented variety of Stark Bros. Nursery, Louisiana, MO.

* Indicates fruits are best adapted to this type of marketing. All white peaches generally lack suffiecient firmness for shipping. Scarlet Pearl and Summer Pearl may prove to be exceptions.
