Hessian Fly

Seed Treatments for Hessian Fly Control

This page presents information on efficacy of insecticide seed treatments for control of Hessian fles in the Southeast.* For specific insecticide recommendations please see the Pest Management Guide for your state.

The next three graphs show that higher rates of insecticide seed treatments help reduce Hessian fly infestations in wheat. The lower rates commonly used for controlling aphids are not sufficient to control Hessian fly.
