This Alabama Agricultural Irrigation Information Network (AAIIN) website will be sharing information developed under the Alabama Irrigation Initiative and other appropriate, farmer-useful irrigation information to first, develop agricultural irrigation water resources in a responsible manner from off-stream storage from high winter flows, upland storage of rainfall runoff, deep wells, and surface/ ground water combinations, and second, promote wise and effective irrigation water management as defined by NRCS Conservation Practice Standard 449 -Irrigation Water Management, the process of determining and controlling the volume, frequency and application rate of irrigation water in a planned, efficient manner.
